The computer systems operating at the Wroclaw Networking and Supercomputing Centre,
together with the software installed on them are designed to
perform scientific calculations that require high computing power, the use of specialized tools or disk space
resources or the use of scalar and parallel computing mechanisms.
WCSS enables the use of its resources in two main ways:
- Service - Process on a supercomputer - a computing service that allows access to
resources for continuous work of a long-term computing nature (after prior commitment to comply with thethe Specific Terms of Service "Process on a supercomputer"),
- Service - Store data in the cloud - it allows you to obtain storage space - after
committing to the Specific Terms and Conditions for the use of Object Storage Service
The following can apply for access to the services in WCSS:
- managers of research projects,
- independent researchers,
- younger academics,
- PhD students/students (please specify the details of your promoter in the service order form).
The owner of the service may add to/delete from his team members who participate in the research project (including students).
A person applying for access to services must complete the following steps:
Services are granted for a period of 1 year, or requested by the client, with a determination of the amount of computer resources needed for the research project.
The applications are reviewed by a body designated by the WASK User Council.
The obligations of users of the High-Powered Computers provided by WCSS, result from the accepted regulations:
- Detailed Regulations of Computing Services.
- Specific Regulations for the use of Object Storage Service
The Team Leader is required to provide an electronic version of a detailed report on the use of WCSS resources. This document should include:
- a list of research topics conducted during the reporting period,
- a list of research topics planned for the coming year,
- a list of publications in which results obtained using WCSS equipment/software were used and also copies of these scientific publications.
- The implementers of the service may be asked to present the results obtained from the implementation of the project at WCSS scientific seminars.
